Alcohol on palate, passable if I was drunk

Note: This is a mixto from the same NOM as Grand Mayan and Tierra Azteca. Cost: about $90 pesos per bottle. Nose: Nice buttery agave start. Hints of minerals and earth. Some spiciness emerges as it opens up. Just the tiniest bit of skunk aroma. Flavor: Entry is fairly heavy with a nondescript sweetness, but it is followed up with black pepper heat, some cookie spices, and a decent mouth feel. Short simple finish. I think a night of drinking this may take a toll on you, however.

Lot: LJ155 NOM: 1173 Aroma: much better than expected for the price. Cooked agave, some citrus and pineapple. I cannot usually tell between column distillation and diffuser, but it’s one of the two, maybe both. Taste: really not much to be found here, tastes like watered down tequila. A little citrus, a little pineapple, harsh alcohol burn even tough it’s only 35º/70. The chemical flavor of the column or diffuser is found.

I’m not an expert but I know a tasty blending tequila. To me this makes a delicious Paloma, Texas Ranch Water and Mexican Cesar without a poor aftertaste. Great price point in Mexico where we live. Recommend.

Mexican 35% abv. versión, lote: LDH30, bottled on 10-09-2020, tasted on 10-16-23. Aroma: very subtle notes of cooked agave, herbs & black pepper. Palate: starts quite bitter, after ethanol sensation passes, I can taste the cooked agave and herbal notes but they are even more subtle than on the nose. Quite like a neutral spirit. Finish is short to medium, a hint of cooked agave and herbal note persists for a short time, fades away quite quickly. Bland.

Diffused mixto, total garbage that was served at a Secrets in Cancun. 3 shots made everyone sick
