NOM 1460. Medium amber, nice legs. Nose: Citrus, citrus rind, minerals, light oak and vanilla with some floral notes. Flavor: Agave still shines through in this añejo. There is nice fruitiness, pepper, nuts and anise. Finish: Longish with white pepper, sweet agave, and brown barrel spices. I found this on a dusty back shelf with a tax tag from 2011 for $299 pesos. ($15US)

Tasted in Querétaro, Mexico. Nutty aroma with caramel, wood a touch of citrus. All these are present in the flavor profile with the addition of black pepper. The flavors are bold and compliment each other surprisingly well. Great lingering finish.

NOM 1235 | A bottle that doesn’t have labels, all info is printed onto the bottle, the front states 100% Blue Agave, on the bottom front states: From Arandas Jalisco, in red and continues on the rear: To The World. 40% abv., 750 ml. bottle, no marbete nor codes, looks like a 90’s bottling, tastes on 1-4-24. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light vanilla, light caramel, hint of banana, good acidity to balance sweet aromas, hint of black pepper, smooth wood notes that don’t bother, creamy, quite aromatic overall! Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and acidic balance, at the end the wood note becomes more dominant. Finish is medium to long, light cooked agave, caramel vanilla with a buttery sensation persists, at the very end the wood note becomes slightly dominating, drying but doesn’t bother.

NOM 1460 | Not much of a nose, mostly cinnamon. Sweet syrupy body with lots of vanilla, with some pepper in the finish.

Lots of smokey caramel in this one. Reminds me of Kirkland anejo.
