Great nose, lots of agave, with a big under note of buttered popcorn. Sadly it does not translate to taste as it falls a bit flat in the mouth. I expected some sweetness on entry but instead got black pepper heat along with the agave. A little nice bitterness going down, and the finish turns minty towards the end. Hard to recommend at $35 per bottle, but maybe worth a look if you can find on sale. ***I have revised my initial rating based on a couple more tastings. This tequila has opened up since the bottle was first uncorked. A good, but not great value.

This Reposado is a pretty decent for the price point. The aroma is relatively simple, with agave and a oakiness. I get agave, pepper, and what seems like an almond and herbal taste that I can't quite place. Overall I would probably lean towards using this as a mixer.

Not bad reposado for sipping. Mild vanilla with hint of agave.

Lacking any agave (nose, taste), funky finish. Maybe for margaritas, but a definite no for drinking neat

I felt this one was a little pungent and not a smooth sipper. I will be fair that I had this as a 50ml bottle so I will give it another shot bc sometimes I notice a difference between a 50ml shot bottle and the a shot in a glass from a 750ml bottle. It’s good for the money, but not in my rotation.

A butterscotch aroma with no complexity of intermingling smells. Light, mild butterscotch. The flavor continues the butterscotch and has some agave background but it also has alcohol. Oddly, the alcohol burns at the roof of the mouth. Not overly bad, it just is. The finish continues the butterscotch, still soft and mild but adds a mid chest burn from the alcohol. (Mild burn) Not peppery heat. Alcohol burn. I’ve always wondered about this brand and now I know. I’ll purchase and recommend other products.

Not a fan of the Cazul 100 Reposaso Reserva ($41 @ Total Wine) as there are so many other great options at this price point. Aroma: Articial vanilla and butterscotch rides atop cooked agave, oak, and pepper. Alcohol and chemical notes are detectable. Taste: Cooked agave, mild sweet butterscotch, bitter tannic oak, and alcohol up front. Not pleasant. Finish: Medium with pepper and both bitter and sweet notes.

I think of this as the Glenmorangie of tequilas. It has an agreeable herbal, floral, and woody flavor with a clean finish.

Very sweet floral aroma with a hint of oak. Light clean body with a peppery finish. Not whole lot of flavor expected more with all that aroma.
