Such a unique nose on this, you can really connect with that beer cask. My tasting notes are consistent with the base Reposado, it’s not really my jam after trying their exceptional Blanco. I applaud the innovation with cask use, we need more brands taking chances and broadening our understanding of what Tequila can be. This is 100% work trying.

This is good but should be a higher proof to give it the punch it needs.

Sampled at Monterey Tequila Fest. Finally got to try the California release while in Cali! I’m not much of a beer or stout lover, but this was an interesting one to try.

Nose: agave sweet/ tea / vanilla / caramel/ butter / banana / melon/ orange / licorice / nutmeg / butterscotch / chocolate / molasses / cream soda Taste: sweet cooked agave / vanilla / pepper / caramel / banana / melon / tea / hint of orange/ spearmint / tea / nutmeg / chocolate/ butterscotch/ cream soda Finish : very light viscous mouthfeel with heavy pepper and some alcohol on last sip / the first part of the sip is sweet and keeps that sweetness going / slight bitter and alcohol on the very end. This single barrel reposado will only have 800 bottles made, and as good as it is this will become hard to find. The nose is great and the tastes are great, but that final finish just misses kicking the extra point.

On the nose it is light on aromas. I get agave and some notes from the Stout barrels. Missing other barrel notes I would expect The taste is very nice. Plenty of agave, vanilla, cinnamon and lots of chocolate. I can taste the stout influence. I like this repo and the more I drink it the better it gets. Nice finish with a little pepper and alcohol. I recommend this one.

Nose: Dutch black liquorice. Carmel and Tahiti treat. Vanilla Taste. Black liquorice cooked agave vanilla definitely stout and barrel essence. Nice unassuming finish. Very little heat. Very different and a fun change of pace. It’s growing on me.

The aromas of a vanilla cask really didn’t bleed through for me. One the pallet it felt a bit flat but refreshing. To me it drinks like a 38% very subtle. Once my Jarrito cleared I was able to get more aromas from the dry Jarrito and I got a lot more cherry and vanilla.

Cooked agave remains strong and present along with cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, green grapes (sour), and cocoa powder. medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. This one is heavy cherry, but more distinctly dried or similar to the fancy (luxardo) maraschino cherries more than fresh picked. followed by a strong cinnamon, rose and a bit of vanilla. I still seem to get the green grapes (sour) on the exhale. Lost Lore definitely put a unique spin on this for sure.

Aroma: enjoy the aroma on this, fruity, red cherry, minimal agave on the nose it’s hidden, musty, cocoa powder, tootsie roll just like the barley wine I get this same aroma, light caramel, candy apple the taffy ones, caramel, some crème brûlée, honey, Palate: cocoa powder, again I feel like the agave is hidden, toasty with an oatmeal like taste, vanilla, not a fan of the finish on this I prefer the barley wine one, the aroma is better but the finish is left to be desired, I get this is something new that they are trying no one is doing this out there with these type of barrels. I would say if you are experimental with your tequila and like to try new things go for it otherwise if you are not I would skip if you are expecting something traditional as this is not. It’s drinkable but I prefer the barley wine one instead. The barrel is present on this but the barley wine barrel is allot more present
