Thank you JP for these great samples. I am tasting both batch A02/21 and A02/22 First 02/21. Big nose of vanilla. Smells deliciously sweet. I get oak but not overpowering. Fruity with cherry. Smells buttery with caramel notes. On the palate this one has lots of barrel spice. This is a high proof extra Anejo so it explodes in your mouth. I get fruits and a touch cinnamon. Caramel comes out along with some butterscotch. On the 02/22, the nose is less sweet but still nice and balanced for an XA. I do get more agave. I also get more butterscotch. Less fruity but still there. On the palate the sweet agave comes through every bit as much at the 21. Less vanilla and a touch more oak. I get baking spices an cinnamon. A touch more alcohol on the tongue Both of these are very tasty XAs. They’re unicorns now and you probably aren’t going to find them. Hopefully a new XA will be a future offering. These are different but both a 90 for me.

A well made high proof Anejo with good spice, dried fruit, nuttiness with some great barrrl notes. Delicious

All 50% ABV hits the tongue at first, settling into everything that's great about a high-quality, balanced XA. Cooked agave, butter, maple syrup, baking spices, oak, leather. Sit by the fire and sip this beauty. As others have stated, the price is steep, but the experience is special.

Wonderfully sweet and fruity while maintaining the agave flavor. The aroma is beautiful with a nice oily mouthful and complex flavors. Expensive but worth it for what you get.

Hey, this is nice. Dried fruit, butter, vanilla, cherry and oak aromas and flavors. The higher ABV (50%) doesn’t seem overwhelming, and adds to the intensity of the buttery finish.

Nose: dried fruit, dark cherries, orange peel, citrus, vanilla, cinnamon, oak, notes of cider, earthy, and some agave in the background Flavor: heat on entry, buttery mouth feel, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, toffee, dried cherries, hints of fennel, some cooked agave, oak, and some saltiness Finish: long, peppery, dried fruit, and light barrel spices Points off for price

Don’t let the dark color of this XA fool you. It is not an oak bomb. Aromas: Intensely fruity. Cherry, honey crisp apples and citrus. A touch of sweet apple cider. Dried fruit, nuts, vanilla and almond cream marry with mellow barrel spice notes. An undercurrent of earthy minerals in the background. This has a very round and polished nose. Flavor: The mellow, elegant aromas do not prepare your palate for the first sip of this 50% ABV XA. After an initial ethanol blast, the heat turns silky. Vanilla, leather, burnt almond and toffee notes surface. Fruit and agave regain center stage. Allspice, cloves, cinnamon and a hint of anise contribute another layer of interest. It is buttery and very viscous. Salinity and a mouthwatering umami nuance tempt you to chew this. A lazy and leisurely finish. Well done.

All I can say is wow. If you have a chance to get this special buy, do it. Only 180 bottles made at 100proof absolutely fantastic. Nose- cooked agave comes through with light oak, vanilla, light fruit like coconut-milk, slight cinnamon... and a lot more Taste- agave forward light oak, slight fruit, light pepper, and a sweetness from the agave and caramel on the backend. Can nose this for days, changes every 5min. Definitely complex.

Tasted in Brandy Snifter. Aroma: Vanilla, Caramel, Agave, Oak, Orange Peel, Butterscotch, Cocoa, Dried Fruit, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Barrel Spices, Honey, Curing Tobacco and Earth Taste: Vanilla, Caramel, Cinnamon/Black Pepper, Agave, Oak, Orange Peel, Butterscotch, Barrel Spices, Leather, Honey, Dried Fruit, Cherry, Earthy. and Herbal notes.

Tasted single barrels 2 & 3, both are top of the line Anejo's with the bonus of 100 proof. Both have a Carmel, Vanilla, Agave nose. The taste has the nose flavors plus chocolate, coconut, orange peel. Barrel 2 has more sweetness, and barrel 3 has more spice. These SIB are a real treat. The price point is high, but it is worth it.

Cazcanes #9 Blended was Amazing!! One of the best XAs to date! I purchased a few at a cost of $189.99 Not too bad considering today's market. 93/100 Cazcanes Single Barrel #9 was absolutely phenomenal!! Bottle# 174 of 180. Never in my life would I have thought I'd identify leather as a tasting note. Chocolate, tobacco, butterscotch, and caramel. It is one of the best sipping experiences of all time. The presentation box and drinking glasses added to the cost. $499 is extreme, but the experience is unforgettable. 96/100

From the second I opened this bottle I was in love. Off the jump you get this vanilla note that’s everything. On the taste palate you’re welcomed with that vanilla, and soft oak notes. I definitely recommend this buy

Would have been higher but I have the $500 single barrel one and can’t really justify the 100% markup over the regular XA without trying that one as well. Amazing tequila though. Keeping it filled with argon and Parafilmed for special occasions.

One hell of a high proof extra añejo thick, creamy, viscous, and loaded with flavors like cooked agave, bananas, apricots, vanilla, Dulce de leche, butter cake, brown sugar, Mexican hot chocolate, cinnamon, green chili peppers, almonds, baking spices, and a little dried fruit.

I tasted both the single barrel and the regular version. single barrel is a lot better. Aroma is superior. Color is better too.

Great nose on this. Agave, butter, butter scotch ,baking spices,nuts,vanilla,fruit and caramel. Flavor of Agave, Oak, butter,butterscotch, nuts, dark chocolate,fruit, vanilla, caramel,Has some heat at 100 proof.I like that,what Tequila should taste like,should have some heat. Nice balance, flavor opens up more as you drink. Nice long finish. Price is on high side,I took some points for that. Excellent American white oak barrel XA.

Long finish. Definitely hot at 50% abv. Value is hurt by very high price.
