Light vanilla and spice notes. The agave shines in this Jove. Easy sipper, very enjoyable

Tasted at LA Tequila Fest, also one other short tasting event. I’ll need to revisit with full notes. But impressed overall with this joven’s balance of agave, sweet, and spice. Dinged it for price.

i tried this joven as well as the blanco at the LATF 9/2022. i had a lot of tequila that day so I want to revisit it. I'll update and add my tasting notes then

On the nose, Cooked agave, and a yeasty beer like note. A little bit of cucumber, and clear notes of clove. Very herbal. Definitely some vanilla in there. A sweet fruity note as it opens up, very tropical. Reminds me of pear, but also of this fruit I had in Costa Rica, I can’t recall but it was a green spiky shell with a white fruit on the inside. On the palate, Agave, black pepper, some oak. A bit of caramel and a bit of ethanol, not so much the burn but the flavor. A little bit of butter, very clean. This is nice, no real discernible flaws but the price is much more than I’m willing to pay. Even at $99 at Ferment and Still, this is just way too much in my opinion. 3/10 on pricing.

Wow. Very nice joven with nice vanilla, and fruitiness. With a good peppery middle to end.

One of the few Tequila Joven I’ve tried, and this expression exceeded expectations. Aroma: Fruity; hints of apple, real vanilla, & honey Citrusy; grapefruit peel Spices; clove & white pepper All of them come to a balanced mix with a buttery layer and cooked agave/piloncillo touches. Flavor: Fruity; tropical (pineapple/cherry) & ones mentioned above. Also brings a complexity of oaky, baking spice and sweet fall/autumn notes at the end Medium body and texture feels natural. Really enjoyed sipping it! Elegant bottle and has unique crafted details that make the overall experience very classy. Price is slightly high for the tequila expression, but it’s an overall experience from unboxing all the way to the last sip. 88/100

Very clean and nice finish, not a whole lot of complexity. I enjoyed it but would never pay for the bottle, I thought it was too expensive for what it offers.

Un tequila joven elegante y bien ensamblado. Notas de manzana dulce, maple y ligero toque de miel se conjugan de manera equilibrada con las notas de agave bien cocido. Las notas de barrica del tequila reposado aparecen en el primer momento, para después dar el protagónico al agave, para terminar con notas de mantequilla y una ligera nota de vainilla natural, no la típica vainilla artificial. Muy bien logrado.

Aromas of guayabana (lots of tropical fruit), vanilla, slight leather and clove. Buttery taste and cooked agave sweetness. Balanced with a nice mouthfeel and spicy finish. Score was slightly lower due to price.

Aroma has fruit, vanilla and leather. More vanilla and agave in the flavor. The finish has a sweet, buttery, agave thing going on that I really like. There’s some slight barrel spice in the finish as well. Overall a nice gently aged clean product.

Nose: Fruity nose of extremely ripe pears, figs, lemon/lime, passion fruit, and baked spiced apples. Spice combination of cloves, cinnamon and light vanilla. An effervescent mineral pop to the aroma, with arid earthy overtones. Trace wood notes. Flavor: Significant spice and Szechuan pepper join forces with dill, basil and fine herbs. Caramel like buttery agave. Some brininess. There is a faint taste of a vinyl compound - reminiscent of a vinyl shower curtain. Finish: More fruit notes appear in the finish - some new teases of cherry and pineapple. Persisting spice and heat fade slowly. Slight bitterness, but not to a fault. Of note: This Joven is a blanco/repo blend. This blend is then rested briefly. My rating reflects a downward price point adjustment.

Great flavor and oily mouth feel. Love everything about this except the price

Good yet disappointing. Not much barrel character, strong pepper. Improved over time but given price I wouldn’t seek it out again.

The nose has delicate notes of cooked agave, melon , honey and nutmeg. On the palate immediate burst of toasted agave, grape, honey, light citrus, white pepper and baking spices. Finish is very nice. Love this Joven.

General Gorostieta Joven $109 USD (Sip Tequila) Overall: Wonderful Joven from Anna Maria. Soft, light, elegant, fruity, and easy to sip. My only real knock on this Joven is the price point, ranging from $100-$125. I find this to be absurdly high, which is reflected in my rating. Once again, I want to echo Pepe Mantz tasting notes. He's 100% dialed on this brand.

This is the first tequila where the aroma and taste of yeast is obvious for me. I also get a hint of vanilla, oak and caramel with a faint scent or orange peel. The taste of cooked agave is prominent with a finish of pepper and spices.

Nice sipping tequila, took a point off for price.
