Lacked complexity, it was flat and overloaded on fake sweetness. Cheaper than DJ 70. Discontinued product

Almond, vanilla, caramel, wood, and taste like agave was stripped from the juice

Found this to be very similar to Don Julio 70. Lots of the same notes are present, vanilla mainly. Bit of caramel. Touch of sweetness. Not too much agave, unfortunately. But that’s to be expected with all cristalinos. Not sold in the states yet but I’ve had it plenty in Jalisco, had a few brought over to me from Tijuana as well. It’s one that I’d definitely recommend. More traditional aficionados probably won’t enjoy as much but it’ll be a hit with the mainstream crowd due to the ease of drinking and pleasant flavors. It’s tasty neat, on the big rock or even in a cocktail.

Mexican 38% abv. version, lote: L0244ZR001, bottled on 31-08-2020, tasted on 10-26-23 Color: transparent. Aroma: slightly herbaceous, slightly earthy, light cooked agave note, it has a whiff of cotton candy sweetness, aromas are quite subtle. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, light black pepper spiciness on the palate, high minerality or "hard" water sensation, quite bland. Finish is medium to medium long, minerality, light herbaceous agave note persists. Ends slightly bitter, but the light cotton candy sweetness is present through my retronasal.

83%Alc.Vol. bought this bottle in Mexico a while back. I honestly expected more. beautiful legs and pearls, nice nose alcohol, barrel, agave, cinnamon and floral. taste was sour and harsh. finish had a stale flat Splenda aftertaste. left a sugary sticky feel on my lips. definitely using this in palomas and cantaritos.

I like the reposado claro much more thsn the dark reposado. I always drink it cold directly from the freezer. Overall a great new reposado from Don Julio.

I was able to picked this up on my last trip to México and I hace to admit, I was not impressed. Since it’s a cristalino I was expecting it go down smoothly, unfortunately I did not taste that much different than the regular reposado. As far as price since I bought in México it seemed at a reasonable price.

No semblance of agave remains. Hot on the nose. Nice smooth flavor and pleasant finish.
