Tasted in Mexico in 2019. A good mixto, but too sweet for my preference. As a result, I wouldn't drink again or recommend, so it loses many points.

Very tasty XA … it’s hard to believe this is a mixto. Definitely the best budget XA out.

The nose is nice. Sweet, caramel. A bare hint of mint. Something like honeycomb and chocolate. As it’s opening up, I’m getting a distinct note of green apple, and the. brown sugar. On the palate, I get that minty coolness, and the nice but subdued sweetness. Maybe a touch of chocolate, some burnt sugar. The Apple is coming through as well. Very interesting. Picked up for $23 in Tijuana, an absolute steal for something this good. I’d drink this all day.

Super interesting tequila. The Mexican version had me fooled. I wasn’t expecting such a deep profile considering how it it made. I am pleasantly surprised.

The Mexico version is a mixto, but don't let that scare you. This stuff is good!

The nose has elements of cooked agave, caramel, vanilla and oak. The taste is a sweet agave with more vanilla and oak. The finish is smooth with a nice warm finish. Purchase this tequila if you can find it. Salud!

Amber in color with nice lágrimas. Aromas of fruit, flowers, agave and medium oak. Spicey with green apples, cherry and a hint of mint. Flavors start with cinnamon, tingly heat and toffee. Mellow but with pepper warmth. A little more oak on the finish, a pleasing medium long finish with the pepper as a counter point to the pronounced sweetness. I wanted to edit this after sitting with this for a day. It hits a of right notes and gets a fairly high rating from me, but there is something lacking. I wouldn’t want to drink more than one glass of this in an evening.

Very interesting. MX version is apparently better.

The aroma is wonderful. Lots of carmel, fresh roasted agave and chocolate notes. Entry is smooth and rich with vanilla and more chocolate plus a hint of whit pepper. Finish carries the soft pepper notes. Toasty oak and a bit of sweetness along with that touch of heat on the center of my tongue. De-lish!

This is an excellent tequila with rich completety of vanilla caramel agave and fruit. It has a buttery mouth feel and is head to head with bottles twice the price. The score reflects the incredible value at 40 bucks.

Mexican 38% abv. versión, lote: L300916G, bottled on 20-10-2016, tasted on 2-18-24. Color: dark yellow to brown. Aroma: caramel, vanilla, sweet wood note, creamy, buttery, after 20 minutes in the glass I smell light raw agave notes, even if the agave note is sweet, it should have been overpowered by the other sweet notes from the barrel, hint of herbaceousness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, slightly astringent, wood note is more evident on the palate. Finish is medium to medium long, wood note, vanilla, caramel and a hint of raw agave and herbaceous note persists.

something didn't taste right and given the price it seemed too good to be true. Upon the first smell and taste, something seemed artificial and I couldn't get past it.

Not just a little sweeter than the 80 proof but I found it more complex getting still agave and butterscotch and maple cinnamon just a delight seriously east to sip. And this has been around so long it was breaking ground back in the late 90’s

Mexico version is such an amazing tequila. Mixto but well made, excellent taste, aroma, finish and the value at $30-45 USD is 10/10.

It’s a mixto and it’s great. Surprising how nice it is. Lots of sweetness obviously. If you close your eyes and pretend it’s a rum you could surprise yourself.

Had it at a restaurant, if it costs as much as Google says it costs, value is outta this world

I wasn’t sure what to expect with a mixto extra añejo definitely interesting. I haven’t tried the U.S. version but I really enjoyed this one. Very light on the nose, good legs beautiful honey amber color, subtle black pepper, chocolate notes and a nice medium finish. An outstanding sipper for its value.
