This is a sweet tequila but not overpowered by additives like other brands. You can easily detect them in the finish but the taste is mostly a very standard extra añejo without complexity. Would never turn down a glass but I would spend my money on other brands for sure.

My absolute favorite for the money

Nice XA with a fair amount of oak, vanilla, agave, and a bit of heat.

Sweet but delicious. Caramel, vanilla, soft agave, soft alcohol. Worth the price? Maybe.

Lovely sipping tequila. Hints of leather and tobacco, not overly oaked.

Aroma: It's very light and mellow to start with subtle hints of oak, cherry and is also slightly floral. But, as it opens up it gets much stronger and has a heavy butterscotch aroma with a slight coffee undertone. Flavor: Again, like the initial aroma it is very light. I get a slight hint of oak but the butterscotch definitely stands out as the most prominent flavor. It's very interesting. Usually XA's are a little too barrel heavy for my taste but this is so light and not overpowering at all.

Practically no oak in the aroma and clear notes of cherry, almond and flowers followed by mild butterscotch. The butterscotch and oak become more pronounced with some time in the glass. Nice opening spice flavor tamed by sweet butterscotch. Nice, long finish that lingers in the mouth. Much fuller and richer than the Crotalo. More of a "traditional" XA. UPDATED on 7/6 in side by side tasting with Crotalo Gran Reserva, Tears of Llorona and re-tasting of Diablito.

Beautiful nose prevalent vanilla notes

Strong pepper forward. Fantastic remains of vanilla for sure. Solid.

Vanilla, chocolate, oak are the three main flavors I immediately smell. On the mouth it feels viscous and sweet. Extraordinarily sweet and zero notes of agave.

Great caramel smell and taste. Nice color, smooth and easy to sip. Great for people coming from Whiskey. No underlying tequila character and lacks complexity of a Siete Laguas Anejo at half the price.

One of the smoothest tequilas ever from start to finish. Velvety with absolutely zero harshness . Great value in my opinion

Very smooth finish with virtually no bite.

Agave, caramel, apple juice on the nose. Medium mouthfeel. Slightly sweet. Very smooth. Overall flavor-profile more like a very smooth whiskey / bourbon.

Hard to get past true artificial flavors not drinkable.

Heavy Oak Barrell finish that lingers. Smooth on tongue with that Anejo bite on the backside. Lingers in the nose after sip

My first Anjeo so wasn’t sure what to expect. The aroma was ideal for me and also the taste - caramel and agave with pepper - was great. The taste lingers a bit too long for me. For the price I feel this is a bit too expensive for me.

Presentation is great, looks very premium especially for the sun £100 I paid for it. However it smells and tastes like a run of the mill reposado. Honestly I don’t know if what I have is different from what others have but this lacks colour, flavour or any of the premium taste that you would expect from a decent extra anejo. The plus sides are the mouthfeel and I sometimes enjoy the burn. We will call it peppery to be nice to it but I think it’s probably just that way as it’s a poor tequila which has a little too much burn for the buck.

Nose: very pleasant, caramel/butterscotch , agave, fruits, apple or pear, mildly citrus, some pineapple and dried apricot Taste: smooth, agave pronounced, citrus in mid sip Finish: keep sipping, very smooth ending Thoughts: would have thought it had a slightly stronger finish, can’t wait to engage this fine vintage over time, I’m guessing it’s enjoyment will improve more

Piney nose, but with a bubblegum after scent. Sharp alcohol taste and finish, unfortunately overriding everything before.
