Vanilla, oak, minerals, cinnamon, and a perfumed floral note I can’t put my finger on that is very present and unique.
It’s rare for me to like an Añejo this much, this product stay consistent in every expression. A bit of a vanilla bomb off the get go, I won’t hold a grudge. The Blanco is so good, it doesn’t make sense to me that this costs more so there is some lost value.
Very different than the reposado. Another surprise from La Alteña. Still very sweet but without the vanilla cake batter. I was really hoping that this line would be my new favorite, but that's not the case.
Vegetal, mineral nose that appears to be totally unrelated at all to the repo, in a good way. Sweet flavor.
LOT VLA-003, bottled on 15/07/2015, neck label states aged for 2 years, tasted on 2-18-24. Color: light yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light fruitiness, light acidity, light citrus, hint of earthiness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, it is drier on the palate maybe because this sample is from the last 10% of volume remaining from this bottle. Hint of astringency. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of sweet cooked agave, light green vegetal notes, hint of vanilla with a hint of wood note persists.
A lot of citrus. A very smooth finish. The one I could drink all night. Unfortunately not to be found in Europe anymore.
Very smooth sweet surprising finish but flavour itself not as much, not as sweet aroma wise as previous two, more citric to the nose,
oak barrel notes
If your a whiskey drinker Cognac Caramel at the end Burn at the beginning Dry
Banana and Vanilla aroma, nice finish with taste of dried fruit
Smooth first taste. Dark barrel, whiskey, drier taste. Leaves after taste, dry.
beautiful nose, full roasted agave, barrel notes, dry fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, nutty.. palate has alot of cooked agave, anise, vanilla, lactic/doughy taste that I enjoy.. getting a smokey pineapple and roasted chiles.. herbs and baking spices.. finish was too short for such a flavorful bold juice.. I really did enjoy and would recommend.
Honey and caramel on the notes in the palate, astringent finish Smooth mouthfeel and long finish
Smell: It took a while to open up. Strong earthy aroma at first pour. it opened up to plenty of vanilla, cooked agave, straw and wet earth. Taste: Plenty of cooked agave. Also, vanilla, chocolate, black pepper and alcohol. It has a fair, sweet finish. At around £37 per bottle it is good value for money. If you like añejos, this would make a good every day sipper.
Suuper oaky and dry
good for my scotch friends
Smells warm, sweet, caramel, lowland Flavour agave forward, slight taste pine needle Smooth finish
Agave on nose Stone fruit/apricot Seeet spice Caramel notes White pepper Viscous
Aroma is pleasent but nit overwhelming. Taste is very well balanced. Strong oak, some banana and vanilla. What is so wonderful is that you can't really describe that taste. Its not sweet and not bitter, it's not complicated and not simple and the finish is neither long or short.
vegetal, sweet, caramel, vanilla, smooth
firewater finish...strong alcohol finish.
vanilla, oak aroma. very oaky taste smoooth finish. Sweet aftertaste
Nice bit of baking spice

Nose: Vanilla bomb. Clear soft vanilla, the dominant note. Cooked agave in the back, but then the vanilla and fruity notes come in. Some oak. The vanilla is shockingly abundant though, so sweet and inviting. Palate: Very soft agave and vanilla intermingled, oak, fruit. Maybe a slightly overripe banana note, almost notes like a rum. Sweet, oily, a touch of brininess. This is not the typical 1139 flavor profile I am accustomed to, but it is very nice.
