2003 SAT stamp. Nose: Dark berries, black cherry, ripe mature agave, caramel, baking spices and honey. Chalky oyster shells and potting soil. Flavor: Spicy entrance gives way to round ripe fruit, sweet silky vanilla, a hint of almonds, and balanced oak aging notes. Finish: Cinnamon and pepper, with a touch of butterscotch. A dusty oldie picked up recently for $308 pesos - ergo it picks up points on value. But tasty!

A 2003 Tax sticker on this. Nose: Caramel, vanilla and aromatic spices of cardamom, nutmeg and allspice. An appealing musty oak resin aroma. Oranges and earthiness. Round mature baked agave. Flavor: Creamy butterscotch with fiery pepper and cinnamon catch your attention. The appearance of almond and vanilla in the finish tame some of the heat. This one garners points on value.

Mexican 38% abv. versión, no lot code, botella número 08317, marbete is from year 2000, tasted on 4-6-24. Color: dark yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, hint of camphor wood, light earthiness, light fruitiness, hint of vanilla, light acidity, wood note is evident but I feel the cooked agave and agave sweetness is quite intense therefore can still perceive them despite the wood note, light resinous sweetness. Palate: confirms aroma perceived, fruity notes are quite intense, unfortunately wood sensation is quite active too. Finish is medium to long, light sweet cooked agave with light fruitiness, hint of earthiness, hint of vanilla and the active wood note persists.

New 2020 & onwards marbete but doesn’t have info, acquired on September 2023, tasted 9-30-23. Red paper front and neck label. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, vanilla, wood notes, light caramel, slightly herbaceous, earthy, alcohol sensation is medium to medium high, minty therefore wood notes don’t feel too impregnating. Apple juice that is not sweet. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet & sour with red apple balance! Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave, unsweetened red apple juice notes persist.
